In Guatemala, the hearing of the director of El Periódico, José Rubén Zamora, was suspended after it became known that his lawyers are also being investigated. Mario Castañeda, Zamora’s lawyer, described the “hostility” felt in court and assured that justice follows a pattern in similar cases.
