One day like any other Maria Raad went to the doctor with severe chest pain. To her surprise, on that visit she would be diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and they would also inform her that she already had a 20-centimeter tumor in her body. Raad put herself in the hands of professionals, she underwent multiple chemotherapies and medical procedures to save her life. She, on her own account, ‘spoke’ to the tumor: ‘One of the two has to die’. María found love in a foundation that supports foster homes for children with cancer. She knows the story of this cancer survivor that she named her tumor and spoke to her as a friend of hers. Her case ended in a love story.
