The celebration that exhibits the folklore and traditions of Oaxaca
Near the end of the Guelaguetza festival in Oaxaca, various religious and pagan festivities join this celebration and make it much more than traditional dances. Santiago Matatlán, a municipality located in the central valleys of that state, is an example of this. It has added to the Guelaguetza the celebration of its patron saint, Santiago, and its main product, mezcal.
