(CNN Spanish) — The beneficiaries of Solidarity Income, a state aid created during the covid-19 pandemic to help the poorest families in Colombia, can claim their payments through digital wallets or money orders, regardless of whether or not they have accounts. banking.

Digital wallets are mobile applications that are downloaded to the cell phone to receive Solidarity Income money through them and then withdraw the money, but they are only used on smartphones. Among them are Nequi, Daviplata, Bancamía, Movii and a dozen banks that offer this service for those who have banking services.

How to know if the money is available?

Each financial institution will send subsidy holders a text message to inform them of the solidarity income resources, according to the Department of Social Prosperity (DSP).

To register in applications such as Daviplata or Nequi, you must download the application on your cell phone and follow the steps to register as a user.

For people who have bank accounts and who have used it in the last six months, “the resources will be paid by the financial institution where they are a client,” says the DPS guide.

What happens if you do not have accounts with banks and you are a beneficiary of Solidarity Income?

For those who do not have accounts with banks, they will be able to open the digital wallet products from their cell phone at one of the financial entities linked to the program, following the instructions in the text message they will receive.

Anyone will be able to open a digital wallet to receive the money there.

For those who receive money orders through SuperGiros, they can check with their citizenship or immigration identification number if the money order is available.

Once you have confirmed the transfer, you can claim the money at more than 27,000 points throughout Colombia. You must withdraw the money by physically presenting your ID.

In the event that the payment is reassigned to another bank, it is necessary to enter the Solidarity Income page, go to the menu Beneficiary inquiry at the top right of the page, authenticate with the document number and log in.

Already inside the page you will be able to consult the available turns and how to withdraw the money.

What if you changed your phone number and they can’t contact you?

As the holders’ telephone numbers are key to communicating and reporting the status of the money orders, the DPN says that it works with different “organizations and data sources” to locate you and contact you to receive financial aid. However, the DPN urges people to periodically consult the Solidarity Income page through which you can also communicate with information channels.

Households that have not received some of the Solidarity Income transfers, but are potential beneficiaries, will be able to claim the accumulated transfers, according to the DPN.
