For months, Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, has been trapped in a brutal cycle of gang violence. Hundreds of people have died in July alone due to gang-related violence, according to authorities. Criminal activity has increased since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021.
