In an interview with CNN, the Mexican writer also referred to the testimony of Sergio Villarreal Barragán, alias “El Grande”, who assured on Tuesday that Arturo Beltrán Leyva — who co-founded the drug cartel that bore his last names — ordered Genaro to be kidnapped García Luna—former Secretary of Public Security of the Government of Mexico and the highest-ranking former Mexican official to face US justice on drug trafficking and corruption charges—because “he no longer wanted to answer his calls.”
