Cultural authorities from Mexico City met with groups of artists, sign writers and historians to discuss the importance of signs as part of urban art, and their importance in the construction of the capital’s identity. This, after the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office in April prohibited street vendors from using this type of popular graphics after considering that it “breaks with the order and discipline” of the urban landscape.
