Pedro Vaca Villarreal, Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), comments that the withdrawal of the CNN signal in Spanish from Nicaragua is added to a “sustained operation of censorship.” He added that the company assumes the price of these shares, in this case, by not enjoying the right to freedom of information.
