AMLO visited a mine in Coahuila but not the Metro tragedy

Last Sunday, the president of Mexico visited the rescue zone in the Sabinas mine, Coahuila, where 10 miners remain underground after an internal collapse. However, the visit raised questions as in the past the president said that setting foot in disaster areas was a “demagogic and hypocritical style.” The statement was made when he was questioned for not visiting the area of the Mexico City subway collapse in May 2021.
