(CNN Spanish) — At least 11 police officers were injured this Thursday during a protest that took place in front of the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico City, the capital’s Citizen Security Secretariat reported in a statement.

According to the entity, the agents were injured by “shrapnel from firecrackers and bruises from blows to different parts of the body” after being attacked by some protesters.

The wounded police officers were “transferred to a hospital for medical evaluation, where they are out of danger,” the Secretariat said.

The incidents occurred at the end of a demonstration organized to demand justice for the 43 Ayotzinapa students who disappeared in September 2014 in Iguala, Guerrero.

As of Thursday, no arrests were reported for the incident.

CNN is trying to obtain more information with the Secretary and the Prosecutor’s Office.

Fidel Gutiérrez collaborated in this report.
